FAITH PROVES ITSELF BY WORKS

 

This is the Fourth message of a series on the topic of “FAITH” from the book of James. This month’s message is “Faith Proves Itself by Works”. This is the day, the time and the hour to hear and receive the very Word of God and believe it and stand upon the Word of God.

 

As you read the following inspired scriptures written by Paul the Apostle in the Book of James referring to Faith Proves Itself by Works;  “WILL WE OPEN OUR EARS TO HEAR WHAT SAYS THE WORD OF GOD?”  “OR WILL WE CHOSE TO KEEP OUR EARS AND HEART CLOSED TO GOD” IT’S YOUR CHOICE.

 

Faith Proves Itself by Works

 

Faith displays itself in works: James 2:14-26

“Faith is more than mere words; it is more than knowledge; it is demonstrated by obedience; and it overtly responds to the promises of God”.

 

Scripture:

James 2:14  aWhat doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

Matthew 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

James 2:19  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

James 2:20  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

 

James 2:21  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, a when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Genesis 22:13  And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

Genesis 22:14  And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Genesis 22:15  And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

Genesis 22:16  And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

Genesis 22:17  That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

Genesis 22:18  And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

 

James 2:22  Seest thou a how faith wrought with his works, and b by works was faith made perfect?

James 2:23  And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, a Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called b the Friend of God.

James 2:24  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

James 2:25  Likewise also a was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

Hebrews 11:31  By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

 

James 2:26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Conclusion

Our choices and decisions on receiving God's Word are very important to each one of us.  We must learn to put our Faith and Trust in God and His Word the Holy Bible. Will you take this day, time and this very hour to make your choice and or decision? Will you receive God and His Word “AND BE BORN AGAIN INTO HIS KINGDOM”? Below is a prayer to receive Jesus Christ and start a relationship of eternal life with Him.

Heavenly Father,
I come to you in the Name of Jesus, I repent of my sins and I ask you to forgive me of my sins. I believe and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and believe He died on the cross and rose on the third day. I ask you to come into my heart. I ask you now to wash me and cleanse me. I give you my spirit, soul and body.  I will with your help follow you all the days of my life. I thank you for writing my name in the Lambs Book of life.
